President's Report
Happy New Year to you all, I know this is a bit late, but since I haven't seen many of you I think this may be appropriate. I hope you had a good holiday season and are having a good winter. I also hope your winter projects are going well and that they will be ready for you to show them off at one of our summer shows.

The New Year has brought some changes in the leadership of our Club. Art Fellows has been elected secretary (See addendum below) and Joe Szalach has replaced Steve Dewan on the Board of Directors. The rest of the officers and directors remain the same. Please take time to thank Mary Pickard and Steve Dewan for all the work they have done for the Club.

Also, thanks to Lynne Harding for the outstandinbg web site she has developed; Mike Whipple for his work in advertising and PR for the Club, Robin Weinkauf for the history she has put together, Carol Cobb for the newsletter and all the other computer things she has done, Ron and Becky Kilts, our meeting "greeters", 50/50 hosts, and sympathy cards and Dan Young and Ken Milback for their work on the Kirkville show. I would also like to thank the officers and board of directors for their work in keeping the club going. And thanks to all you members for participating and making this a successful year. I look forward to a bigger and better year in 2008. Information about the Club is available on our web site at www.cnyantiquetractorclub.com. Click on events and you will see the shows that have been sanctioned for the coming year. If there is a show you wish to go to and want to have it sanctioned just bring the information to a meeting or contact one of the officers or a member of the Board of Directors and we will sanction it and post it on the web site.

New York Farm Show
Dave Hyde reports that the 2008 show season has started with this show held on February 21st, 22nd and 23rd. We had a good turnout for our setup. There were 5 tractors and 3 miniatures - Jim Northrup's Cockshutt 35L, Carl Rufner's Minneapolis-Moline Jet Star 3, Dean Hilts' Farmall F12, Dave Hyde's Minneapolis Moline R, Steve Weisbrod's John Deere L and miniature 4020 and Lee Northrup's miniature Cockshutt 540 and 550. Tickets were sold for the pedal tractor and this year we are also raffling a Sears Die Hard battery booster pack. 317 tickets were sold for a total of $272.00. Raffle tickets are 1 for $1.00 or 6 for $5.00 and many people bought the 6 for $5.00. Tickets this year were made by Carol Cobb and she did an excellent job with them. Thanks to all the people who sold tickets this year; Tom Gerken, Clarence Cobb, Gary Alley, Howard Pickard, Dave Hyde, Dean and William Hilts, Dick Welch, Jim Phillips, Jim Northrup and Ron Kilts. I would also like to thank all the people that are on the Farm Show staff for a well-organized and great show.

Club Dues
Dues for the year (Jan 01 - Dec 31, 08) are $15.00. Your mailing labels shows whether or not your memebership is current. 08 indicates your dues have been paid for 2008. You can pay your dues at any Club meeting or they can be mailed to CNY Antique Tractor Club, PO Box 4, Canastota, NY 13032. Questions please call Clarence Cobb at 315-697-2509.

Raffle Tickets
Six raffle tickets are enclosed. You may purchse them yourself or sell them to someone else. There are two prizes this year, a pedal tractor and a battery pack. Be sure the person purchasing the tickets circles the prize he/she wishes to win. Only one choice per ticket. Individuals purchasing more than one ticket do not have to circle the same prize on all tickets. Bring ticket stubs and money to a Club meeting or send to CNY Antique Tractor Club, Box 4, Canastota, NY 13032. If you have questions or need additional tickets call Clarence Cobb 315-697-2509 (7117 Nelson Rd., Canastota, NY 13032).

Incorporation Update
The Club officers and board members are in the process of incorporating the Club as a non-profit organization. Once that is completed they will attempt to have the Club classified as a tax-exempt organization by the IRS. It is expected that some attorney expense will be incurred. We will keep you posted.

FOR SAFETY'S SAKE IF YOU HAVEN'T CHANGED THE BATTERIES IN YOUR SMOKE AND CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS DO IT NOW!

Do you know of a Club Member who has been hospitalized or is recovering from an illness? Becky Kilts would like to hear from you. She will make sure that a get-well card is sent to that memeber from the Club to help boost their spirits and speed their recovery. In addition if a Club member suffers a loss, a sympathy card will be sent. Please call Becky at 687-7919.

History can be a fascinating subject. Your personal history can also be fascinating. What sparked your interest in farm tractors and old machinery? Why do you favor one brand over another? The beauty in an all brands (color) organization is that like chili, the total of all the ingredients is what gives the Club its unique flavor.

At the Bouckville show last summer the Club had a Case bailer, powered by a Minneapolis-Moline tractor, the bailer being fed by a John Deere collector, and tended by a member who owns many brands including Allis-Chalmers, Ford, Fordson Inernational-Harvester, Massey Harris and others. The photos were taken by a member who owns four different brands. I think you get the idea.

You as members all have a unique story to tell. These stories are the history of what made you join the CNY Antique Tracor Club. I would like to compile as many tidbits as possible to inlcude in future newsletters. The information could be short as a sentence or two or more detailed in the form of an article, which can be composed from an interview. If you are interested in sharing your history with the Club members, send me a note or contact me at the meeting or call me. I hope to hear from many of you.
