| CENTRAL NEW YORK ANTIQUE TRACTOR CLUB |
I can’t say much more without saying something about the cost of gas and diesel fuel. I’m sure it will curtail some of our activities but hope that you can make it to some of the closer shows. If the predictions are correct, people are going to stay closer to home and since they will be looking for things to do we may experience a lot of new attendees to our shows here in the area. This will give us a good chance to recruit new members as well as sell tickets to the raffles.
Again I am asking that you all keep your ears open for people interested in antique tractors and equipment so that we can all help the Club grow.
As reported at the last meeting we are working with attorney Ted Earl in Incorporating the Club and becoming a not-for-profit organization that is tax exempt. I reported at our last meeting that we were looking at becoming a 501 c (3) organization, however when looking at it more closely we did not qualify so we are looking to become a 501 c (7). With this designation, gifts made to the Club will not be tax deductible. The benefit of this is it requires less paperwork to file and we should save some attorney fees. We should see draft documents from the attorney soon, and will keep you updated.
If any of you have ideas that may help the Club grow, please let us know. I’m sure that there are many ideas circulating that we haven’t thought about. We’re interested in anything that will help the Club. So until the next newsletter remember if you have online access you can go to www.cnyantiquetractorclub.com and read newsletters and track the shows that have been sanctioned.
Boxing Hall of Fame Parade
Sunday June 8 dawned bright and sunny. By parade time we had several showers, one just as the parade started. But that did not stop 5 of us from taking part in the parade. For the second time in two years a new member took part in the parade. Bill Lollman paraded his International Cub with snow plow attached. He pulled the big club sign. I had my R and pulled Mike Whipple and Robin and Mike’s granddaughter Autumn riding on a trailer in their railroad work car. The car was a big hit as Mike was blowing the horns of the car and throwing candy. We had many good reactions to our participation.
Plow Days at Paul Miller's
We had a good turnout and turned over a lot of dirt at Paul Miller's on April 26 and 27. The weather cooperated during the day on Saturday . Although it was quite dry most of the plowing went very well. About 11 tractors plowed on Saturday and about the same number plowed on Sunday. I didn't get a list of participants but thanks to all who came out and plowed. On Saturday night it rained and we had a few mud puddles to work around on Sunday but we were able to plow with no one getting stuck. We plowed a total of 92 acres the two days. Thanks to Paul for getting such a good place to plow. Let us know if you're interested in plowing there again in the fall.

Dues
Dues are the major source of income for our Club. We are in the process of incorporating the Club as a nonprofit organization. This very important step in the growth of our Club will generate the need for additional income. Your mailing label will indicate the last year for which your dues were paid (Example 08 for the current year). Let us all work at getting our current membership up to at least 100. Comments have been made that “you Club members have a good time at your meetings and shows.” Where else can you have so much fun with a great group of people for $15.00 a year! See you at the picnic at Tom’s on July 2nd or our next regular meeting August 6th .
